Constantia
Only a 7-minute helicopter ride from Cape Town, Constantia is one of the most respected and historic wine producing regions in the Southern Hemisphere. Home to South Africa’s oldest wine producing farm, Groot Constantia, the Constantia wine region boasts nine historic farms that all offer spectacular wines, world-class dining and family activities.

The oldest of the Cape Town wineries, Groot Constantia is an example of the superb quality of the Cape’s vineyards. On offer are wine tastings, wine museum tours, wine and chocolate pairings and two top restaurants: Jonkershuis and Simon’s Restaurant & Deli. The manor house is a magnificent example of Cape Dutch architecture.

Dutch for “Beyond Expectations”, Buitenverwachting is a gem of the Constantia winelands. The centuries-old historic buildings have been restored to their original glory, and the wine farm boasts wine tasting, a fine-dining restaurant and artisanal coffee shop.

Established in 1685, Klein Constantia is one of the oldest wine farms in Cape Town and home to Napoleon’s favourite: “Vin De Constance”. The farm boasts breathtaking views over the Constantia Valley and False Bay – possibly the best place to start your Cape Town sightseeing.
